Endodontics is the area of dentistry that deals with diseases of the tooth nerves. These are usually acute or chronic inflammations of the nerve or inflammations of the dental apparatus caused by a diseased nerve.

The most common treatments in endodontics are root canal treatments. In addition, revision or surgical root tip resection may be performed in cases of failed root canal treatment.

Endodontics plays an important role in tooth preservation today. In the past, painful and ulcerous teeth were often simply removed. With today’s advanced treatment methods and the use of automated equipment, many teeth can be preserved through root canal treatments, which until a few years ago were considered as “hopeless cases”.

If a tooth is so badly damaged that the nerve in the tooth is irreversibly inflamed or already dead, a root canal treatment for tooth preservation is unavoidable. For long-term success, it is crucial to clean all nerve channels and then to fill these.

Since we attach great importance to endodontics (the inside of the tooth), we rely on high-quality and modern procedures. For example, we determine the length of the nerve channels electronically, which typically makes an additional X-ray measurement unnecessary. Working with high-resolution magnifying glasses allows us to find additional channels. Highly curved and bent root canals can usually be reached quickly and safely with our highly flexible instruments.
